Telegram informing Donald A. Price of his appointment to West Point, dated June 24, 1958.

This telegram, sent on June 24, 1958, informed young Donald A. Price of his selection to the United States Military Academy at West Point. Senator Albert Gore, Sr.’s decision to recommend Price commenced an extraordinary career of service that is documented at the Albert Gore Research Center in both archival records and our exhibition “Warriors with Words and Faith.” Price served as an officer in the U.S. Army from 1962-1982. He spent time in Korea, Vietnam, and Germany before retiring at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
