Today is World Holocaust Victims Remembrance Day. As a reporter during World War II, Marion Skeen Coleman Peck was one of the first Americans to witness the full scale of the tragedies of the Holocaust. She wrote the captions for some of the most famous photographs taken during the war in Europe, including a series called “Lest We Forget” which documented Nazi and Axis wartime atrocities committed against civilians and soldiers. Visit our research room exhibits for more information on Peck’s service during the war.
